Located less than 2hr from Hobart, the Tasman Peninsula is a place of rugged beauty and sombre human history. Towering sea cliffs and dramatic rock formations, including blowholes, caves, arches and tessellated pavement, edge much of coastline, which is also home to sizable breeding colonies of Australian fur seals.  The Port Arthur prison settlement was at that time regarded as a hell on earth; today, more than 30 ruins and restored buildings are open to public. On a way to Port Arthur we suggest to visit historical town Richmond. There are several cherry and berry farms on a way to Port Arthur and very picturesque local cruise around Port Arthur as well.
